Professor
Prof. Jung Chan Lee received the BS degree in mechanical and aerospace engineering and the PhD degree in biomedical engineering (MS-PhD Joint Program) from Seoul National University, Seoul, South Korea, in 2001 and 2008, respectively. From 2011 to 2014, he was a Research Professor with the Institute of Medical and Biological Engineering, Medical Research Center, Seoul National University. He joined the Faculty of the Department of Biomedical Engineering, College of Medicine, Seoul National University and Seoul National University Hospital, as Associate Professor in March 2014, where he is currently a tenured Professor from March 2019. He is running the Medical Biomechanics and Design Laboratory (MBDL) from 2014. From January 2024 to December 2024, he was a Research Collaborator as visiting scholar at the Children's National Hospital in Washington DC, USA.
From March 2025, he is currently the director of the Institute of Medical and Biological Engineering, Medical Research Center, Seoul National University.
He has been a member of the Korea Society of Medical and Biological Engineering (KOSOMBE), the Korean Society of Mechanical Engineering (KSME) and the IEEE EMBS. He also serves as Associate Editor of Biomedical Engineering Letters, which is official international journal of KOSOMBE.
